Typically, there is no stated rule that those who engage in Yoga should wear certain clothes since it is a non-competitive activity. However, since Yoga exercises involves bending, stretching, and twisting the body a lot, wearing clothes that help individuals move with maximum pliability is a must. Aside from that, wearing clothes without restrain will also help the person move freely and perform the positions much easily.
Typically, Yoga enthusiasts wear really comfortable, stretchable clothes like leggings, shorts, tank tops, and yoga pants made from elastic polyester to make sure they can easily move different parts of their body. Such clothes will not get in the way of the workout; thus, helping people achieve their goals. Although socks and shoes can protect the feet from friction, they will only make an individual lose their balance or restrict the movement of the feet and ankles. For this reason, it is advisable to use a yoga mat instead, as it offers a good grip for the feet. However, for those who wish to wear socks for hygienic purposes, it is best to get a pair of non-slip ones. Likewise, the reason that tank tops are ideal for Yoga exercises is that they allow the wearer to move her upper body with much ease. However, the tank top should provide good support for the chest. It is advisable to avoid wearing loose or large open collar tops to prevent exposing oneself while doing Yoga.
On a similar note, wearing the appropriate outfit is always expected from individuals so they can easily perform tasks at hand as in the case of wearing pantsuits while doing office work, meeting clients, or conducting seminars.
