Value of Driving Suits
If you are fond of driving or racing fast cars, you must have a protective gear to avoid getting hurt during accidental fire or crash. It is always good to wear the right protection every time you drive your vehicle. Always remember that driving suits are the last line of protection that a driver has in the event of an accident. It is not about the colours or patches that a suit has, but it is about its material quality, construction design and protective padding.
Now, buying protective driving suits can be hard on your pocket. However, creating your own driving suit may be possible if you have a sewing machine and have ample know-how to operate and use it. Find a work coverall that you can use as a ready-made pattern for a jumpsuit. Once you have the design, trace and pin your flame retardant fabric directly to the pattern and sew it into place. Make sure that you are using reliable materials that should qualify as flame retardant, among other things. Do not rely too much on fabric treated with flame retardant sprays. This will not guarantee that such material will be able to protect you in case of a fire.
Make it a habit to wear the prescribed gears when you are going for a race. It is very crucial to prioritise your outfit as it is more than a uniform. Have your vehicles checked before you embark on a journey or a racing event. Make sure that you have checked all the possible areas of the car that might cause it to catch fire or met accident. There are no spare parts for the human body, so you better be careful at all times.
